From the 18th October the Masters changed their platform and modified the spreadsheet.
The video shows how easy it is to generate the masters spreadsheet with the detail on how to do it below.
Select the beneficial owner tab in order to see the various links connected to the trust. This is where you will see the beneficial owners which are the trustees and the beneficiaries. This is the screen to be used in order to generate the spreadsheet to the Masters Offices. The information that the Masters require is detailed below.
The beneficial owners that will populate the spreadsheet will be as follows;-
1. Founder (natural person as contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (c)(i))
2. Founder (legal person or contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (c)(ii))
3. Trustee (natural person as contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (d)(i))
4. Trustee (legal person or contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (d)(ii))
5. Beneficiary (natural person as contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (e)(i))
6. Beneficiary (legal person or contemplated in Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (e)(ii))
7. Other natural person who directly or indirectly ultimately owns the relevant trust property (Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (a))
8. Other natural person who exercises effective control of the administration of the trust arrangements (Section 1: “beneficial owner“ (b))
9. Donor
These are the types of grounds that make a beneficial owner in a trust.
7,8 and 9 must be entered as a connected person and the nature must be selected as:-
Donor
Owner of Property
Controller of Arrangements
Click on to generate the file of beneficial ownership which will open in Excel. Save the file to upload to the masters. Some Notes on the template.
When you have created the final file store it in your documents save it in your documents folder.
To export the file click on the export icon as indicated below. You may want to vet the spreadsheet file before you upload it.
To import a excel file click on the import icon. This should only be done with the assistance of Accfin Support.
When satisfied that the data is correct click on the which will open the masters portal.
